Volunteer coach trip to The Watts Gallery

  • Watts Gallery Down Lane Compton, Guildford, Surrey United Kingdom (map)

Join us for a complimentary coach trip to The Watts Gallery!

Watts Gallery was founded in 1904 by visionary couple George Frederic Watts and Mary Seton Watts.

George Watts was one of the foremost artists of the 19th century and became known as 'England's Michelangelo' for his powerful works and portraits. Mary, a visionary designer and artist, founded the Potters' Arts Guild at Compton, a progressive business with the aim to promote traditional craft practices and create jobs for the local community.

The gallery curates and cares for an extraordinary collection of art.

The 18 acre site is home to an incredible collection of Arts and Crafts buildings, grounds and gardens, set in the beautiful Surrey Hills, just outside Guildford. There is also the chapel, Limnerslease (studio home of the artists), and shop with contemporary exhibitions for everyone to enjoy at your leisure after the tour.

We’ll be leaving Fulham Palace at 9.00, meeting outside the car park gate on Bishop’s Avenue at 8.45. The visit will involve a guided tour around the gallery starting at 11.00. After a full day exploring the site, we’ll depart at 16.00 and return by coach to the Palace, arriving at 17.00 traffic dependent.

Please have a look at the Watts Gallery website for further info. Visit | Watts Gallery
