Volunteer coach trip to Penshurst.

  • Fulham Palace Bishop's Avenue London, SW6 6EA United Kingdom (map)

Join us for this year’s volunteer trip to Penshurst Place and Gardens

Come for a trip to this stately home, nestled in the historic, picturesque village of Penshurst in Kent. This 14th century property was once a country retreat to the Lord Mayor of London. During King Henry VIII’s reign, this property belonged to him and was used as a Hunting Lodge. The estate was passed on to his son, King Edvard VI.

Penshurst Place visit schedule:

Meeting at Fulham Palace at 8.30am (Bishops Avenue)

Arrive approximately at 10.30am at Penshurst Place

Tour starts at 11 am . The group will be divided in two. They have a one-way system around the house and the groups will go off at c.10min intervals.

Once you have completed your tour (which is approx. 1 hour, depending on mobility and questions), you are then free to enjoy the Gardens, café and re-enter the house at your leisure until your departure.

Groups are asked to please stagger the use of the Porcupine Pantry Café especially as it will be a busy week for visitors, and we cannot reserve tables. Option to go to picnic areas is available.

From the end of the tour until time to leave is self guided and everyone can see the place as they wish.

I will have a phone with me to be contacted but otherwise we will meet by the coach before leaving time.

Return to the coach by 2.45pm to leave at 3pm
Arrive back to the Palace around 4.30pm (traffic pending).
